The tools learned will will help the young children identify feelings, build friendships, problem-solve, and build healthy relationships with others.

Series Information:

Part 1: Encouraging Emotional Intelligence In Early Childhood (Saturday March 11th)

Define emotional intelligence and identify typical emotional development milestones from birth to eight years old. Identify hands-on activities, books, and other resources to help build social and emotional skills. Learn emotion-coaching strategies to help children through difficult moments and maintain a supportive environment while you build children’s ability to self-regulate and manage big feelings.

KCF Area II.C: Promoting Social and Emotional Development (2 Hours)

CDA Area III: Positive ways to support children’ social and emotional development (2 Hours)

(New York) Approved for Child Growth and Development (2 Hours)

Part 2: Building the Social-Emotional Intelligence Needed to Empathize, Perspective -Take, and Get Along Well with Others (Saturday March 18th)

Explore children’s social-emotional development in the context of relationships from birth to age eight. Identify strategies to promote emotional intelligence in relationships, including children’s capacity to identify other’s feelings, discern emotional cues, show understanding and empathy, and use helpful responses to conflicts. The tools learned will help the young children you care for build friendships, problem-solve, and build healthy relationships with others.

You gain 2 training hours for each webinar!

All participants who fully complete the course will receive a training certificate for 2-training hours for each webinar. To receive your training hours, you will need to log in to Zoom to participate in chats/polls  as you apply the concepts to your environment and complete a brief evaluation survey.  Participants must not miss more than 15 minutes of the session.  During the session, you must not be responsible for the care of young children or driving a car.

100% Approved in both MN (Develop-MNCPD/Achieve) and NY for 2-training hours (Meet OCFS training requirements, Quality Assured, and count towards NYS Regulatory Training Requirements.  Participants from MN and NY will receive entry into Develop or Aspire, if needed, within two business days of completing the course.
