Event Details

Join Creating Constructive Collaborations with Families: Communicating about Challenging Behaviors and Developmental Concerns, made possible through a collaboration between Angel's Learning Center and Thriving Together. Take part two on it's own or attend the entire series (each course builds on the one before - more information below).

Have you ever tried to communicate about a child's challenging behaviors and had parents deny this is an issue, get defensive, or even shut down from communicating?

Did you suspect a developmental delay or had concerns about a child but feel unsure about how to discuss this touchy subject?

Do you want parents to value your input and value your important work with their child, especially through concerns and challenges?

You are not alone!  Early childhood professionals have communited these issues with us for years!  That is why this training was developed - to help educators, parents, and children all succeed - even through these difficulties.

The reality is, communicating disappointing or heartbreaking news with families is tricky because the parent may experience disbelief, guilt, or other negative emotions connected to a "loss of dreams".  When challenges come up, is critical to have clear insight into parent's perspective and have a clear idea of how to approach these situations with confidence and grace.

Join us for this insightful live webinar to

  • Collect methods to set the stage for these difficult conversations before concerns arise.
  • Gain strategies to effectively and comfortably discuss concerns and challenging behaviors with families.
  • Identify tips and specific helpful language that will turn these potentially awkward or tense conversations into rewarding and collaborative discussions.
  • Have fun learning with others who care for young children during this engaging online webinar with Raelene Ostberg, Expert Trainer and Founder of Thriving Together, LLC.  Raelene has over 25 years experience working with families as an early childhood educator in the classroom, home visitor, family education specialist, staff coordinator, and, most importantly, as a parent collaborating with childcare providers to raise her own two daughters.
  • Gain a Certificate of Attendance for 2-training hours. To receive your training hours, simply log into your Zoom webinar and participate in chats and polls as you apply the concepts to your environment, and complete a brief evaluation survey.  Participants must not miss more than 15 minutes of the session.  During the session, you must not be responsible for the care of young children or driving a car.
